Christmas Part 2 (YAY!!)

It's official: Christmas 2017!! (Well it was last week)

My Christmas Eve & Day ended up being quite hectic, which is why I'm posting this late. I thought I'd still post it though, so I can look back at it and remember the day.

I'll just start by mentioning the pantomime that my parents and I went to see this year: Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs by the Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle. Theatre is one of my greatest loves in life and over the years I've seen a few pantos at this theatre (and others). In my opinion, those shown at this one are by far the best I've seen, and have even impressed some of the sceptics. They often include some famous faces too, and I know it's not for everyone but I highly recommend it!

Anyway, back to Christmas! We had a new Christmas tradition in my family... Christmas Eve pyjamas! I know a lot of people who've done this for years and I loved the idea so my mam surprised me with some pyjamas on Christmas Eve...

I got a set from Asda but here's the jumper part of it - it's definitely the comfiest thing I own, I highly recommend getting one!

Now what's Christmas without a few decorations?

We got these cute little stocking decorations a few years ago and stitched them onto some material that runs along the mantle piece. I was originally going to put little treats in each of these for my brothers and parents (like their favourite chocolate/sweets) but buying other presents took over and I didn't get time... next year though!

I may have gone slightly overboard with the tinsel, but I didn't think my room was festive enough...

(I wanted there to be tinsel wherever you turned!)

Here's a cute little cat decoration that I bought at a Christmas market a few years ago along with a Christmassy money box, just to add a little more festivity to my bedroom in case the tinsel wasn't enough...

The tree in my bedroom...

I got these baubles from a few different places but the tiny glass ones are from Paperchase. Something I think is quite cool is that it reflects in the mirror so it's like having two Christmas trees instead of one...

And the (real) tree downstairs...

It's a bit too dark to see properly in this picture but I promise it was really pretty! I got quite excited about having a real tree this year and ended up writing a blog post about it :)

But it wasn't just the house that was decorated - I though I'd be as Christmassy as possible and dress up for the occasion too...

This jumper was from Dorothy Perkins, they have such nice Christmas jumpers every year, definitely worth looking at next year!

This is a hairband from Sainsbury's. I love that it has little bells!

Also, I wanted to have some kind of decorated candle in the middle but I couldn't find one that matched the blue and silver theme of our table decorations, so DIY! I managed to find a lovely little gel candle that had silver snowflakes in it and placed it in a wide bowl, then put this on top of a cake stand. To match the colour scheme I filled the bowl with blue and silver baubles and used a circle of blue wrapping paper for an extra pop of colour. It actually had little sprigs of holly leaves in between the baubles as well but by the time I took this picture they'd been cleared away, typical! :)

With the candle lit and little holly leaves on top it did look really nice in the middle of the table!

Now here's where it got hectic...

The Christmas dinner was lovely but some of my family ended up spending Christmas in hospital because my nephew was born on Boxing Day! It might've changed plans a bit but it was a lovely Christmas treat :)

This card was from Paperchase - I just thought it was so pretty with the sequins and glitter!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed quality time with family, relaxing, or whatever makes you happy!

Here's a little video I made for Christmas 2017 - I've never edited a video before so I just thought I'd give it a go for fun :)
