My New Year's Resolutions

As 2017 comes to an end, it seems only right to post my New Year's Resolutions in my blog. Let's hope that by the time I'm writing a similar post next year, I'll have managed to keep/achieve them!

Learn to Drive

For so many reasons, I've had to put off driving for a few years after I planned. I did start to learn my theory and practical for a while, but then uni began and I got caught up in the studying/socialising. But this is definitely something I'm aiming to do in 2018! I'm not saying that I'll pass this year (although that would be amazing), but I'd at least like to learn and get to a point where I could take my test. Now it's here in writing, no excuses.

Become Healthier

I feel like my health has slipped a bit since going to uni. During the summer I started running and actually grew to really like it, as well as the health benefits that came with it. Over the years I've gone through really healthy phases and at one point I was drinking herbal tea every day, but this year I'd like to stick to healthier habits and not just forget about them! I'd love to get slimmer but also gain a bit of muscle (I'm really weak at the moment), so even if I don't always have time to go to the gym, I've bought some dumbbells and resistant bands. Also, I got a fitbit for Christmas so I'm going to put it to good use and make sure I'm walking enough every day (my goal's 10,000 at the moment, eek!). I'll try to drink more herbal tea (some types help to raise metabolism so maybe that means I can afford to be a bit lazier sometimes), and also restart my love for running - I always felt stress-free and happier afterwards so it can't be that bad... right?

Here's to a happier and healthier me!

Succeed in 1st Year of Uni

Even though I got the grades that I needed at A level, that wasn't without a struggle or two at times! I often had doubts about the subjects that I chose to study and I know that the people around me sometimes thought that they'd encouraged me to choose the wrong ones. But in the end, after all of that faff, I got into uni! I'm finally studying something that I'm really interested in and I love the uni too! But there's nothing I'd love more than to make my family, friends, and myself proud, and show them that it's all finally worked out!

Start my own business

Okay, so this is quite a different one. I've always had quite an entrepreneurial mindset, always thinking about new ideas and how I could make them into a reality if there's a supply and demand - but I've always thought that it was out of my reach. Finally, after growing impatient of limiting and doubting myself, I've decided to just start a business - as plain as that. I'll work out the logistics of it and just try my best. It doesn't have to be successful (although that would be the preferred outcome), but as long as I learn from it and just get over the idea that it could never work then I'll be happy! In the end, the least I can get from it is a set of new skills and that can't be bad, or maybe it could even grow to be successful! Who knows? But I'll definitely try it out and it'll be a bit of fun as well!

Grow my blog

What better way to record 2018 than to put it in a blog? It's been a long time coming and the start to my online diary. This time next year I'd love to see that I'd continued to post and maybe even write reviews, advice, and anything else that could be helpful to someone. Regardless of uni and other commitments taking up my time, I'm going to try to regularly upload content and maybe update you on my little business venture once it gets started! I said that I'd started this blog because I kept forgetting to write in diaries and then eventually losing them, so let's make this one different and make it last!

I hope you all have a brilliant New Year's Day and make the best of 2018!

(My New Year's never complete without singing 'Auld Lang Syne' and watching the fireworks with my parents, and obviously a buck's fizz from Christmas!)
